How to prepare for CDS exam

Combined Defense Services(CDS) conducts examination twice in a year under UPSC.
CDS is basically for the graduate level candidates .
Examination consists of 3 sections and they are
1.Mathematics
2.General knowledge and current affairs
3.English

Mathematics and English questions are of 10th class level.
G.K consists of Indian History,Geography,Civics etc.
Current Affairs are mainly related to Defense or are from International concerns

Anyone can clear CDS by preparing these subjects.

Here are some tips to prepare for CDS examination.

1.Mathematics can only be prepared by daily practicing ,You may refer to the 10th level books for them. The questions are mainly from LCM/HCF, square root,cube root , Numerical ability, profit and loss, discounts, percentage ,simple interest ,compound interest, height and distance , distance speed and time , Trains, upstream /downstream ,Tanks etc etc.

2.General knowledge and current affairs:-It is generally a very difficult subject as it consist of a wide range of sub subjects and hence it could be only prepared by remembering things and studying newspaper on daily basis and watching NEWS channels and National geography and history channels too.

Current Affairs can be prepared from the books too ,One could buy CSR(competition Success Review) or Pratiyogita Darpan to get daily updated.

3.English: English can be prepared by practicing various 10th level practice sets which includes the topics like ,mistake in a sentence, similar words, opposite words , Passage review etc etc.
